Be Alert! Income tax payers receiving fake emails from fake website.”To avail refund your tax”.
Now is the time to file income tax returns. Cheating hunters on the Internet are also busy redeeming this opportunity. Taxpayers are coming in contact with the matching ID of the Income Tax department, which is being said to give ‘their netbanking details’ to get ‘Refund Amount’. Those who are coming from the fraudsters have their ID- donotreply@incometaxindiafilling.gov.in while the income tax department ID is donotreply@incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
There are two differences between the fake mail id and the correct government ID. The first is that there is only filling in fake mail, whereas the correct government mail id is efiling before filing. The second difference is the spelling of filing. In fake mail id (filling), there is a double l (L) while the correct income tax ID of the Income Tax department is that of single L (l).
The Income Tax Department spokesman told, “We continue to issue warnings on our website. At the same time, we keep on alerting online fraud by sending text messages to taxpayers. Do not respond to such suspicious mail, nor share bank account or credit card details as we do not demand them.
However, there was no warning on the website of Income Tax Department, but Chartered Accountants (CA) and Tax Return Generators (TRP) have issued a warning on WhatsApp. “Those people who are getting mails for filing returns and sending refunds after filing returns, an important information for them – please ignore such mail.” These mails are sending hackers. Clicking on this mail will open the NetBanking page directly and whenever you log in to your NetBanking site, your bank account will be hacked. Keep in mind, the Income Tax Department will send you the information or proper notice of the refund received by you.
