Krafton said that Battlegrounds has moved to a free-to-play model and is now accessible to all players for free on PC and consoles. Along with the new Battlegrounds Plus premium account upgrade, Krafton, the publisher of the popular mobile battle royale game Battlegrounds Mobile India, has released a one-time, non-recurring Battlegrounds Plus premium account upgrade. Additional G-Coin, a 100% increase in Survival Mastery XP, unique in-game goodies, and custom match capabilities with access to the Ranked game mode are all included in the premium upgrade.

The decision to make PUBG: Battlegrounds free-to-play was initially revealed by Krafton on December 9 at The Game Awards 2021, which will take place on January 12. Since its release in 2017, the game has sold over 75 million copies worldwide; it was formerly priced at Rs. 999 in India, but it is now accessible for free on Steam. The game is also playable on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and Xbox 360. A $12.99 (approximately Rs. 960) premium account upgrade is required for players who want access to extra in-game incentives and ranked and custom match formats.

Gamers that upgrade to the Battlegrounds Plus premium account will get an extra 1,300 G-Coin and a 100% increase in Survival XP. Players who upgrade their accounts will have access to the Medal tab in career mode, ranked mode, and Custom match features. The Battlegrounds Plus upgrade also offers in-game accessories like the Captain’s Camo outfit.

According to Krafton, gamers who buy PUBG: Battlegrounds will get a PUBG – Special Commemorative bundle that includes a Battle-Hardened costume skin set, the Shackle and Shanks Legacy Pan, and the Battle-Hardened Legacy nameplate, as well as an immediate upgrade to Battlegrounds Plus.

Krafton also announced the release of PUBG: Battlegrounds Update 15.2, which includes new Tactical Gear like drones and EMT gear for scouting isolated regions. With a new Action Queue feature, players may queue up activities like reloading after shooting a weapon, improving communication, and in-game smoothness. Krafton’s upgrade to version 15.2 includes revised lessons with a basic training mode, AI training match, and Lobby Tutorial Missions.
