Avatar 2, the second part of the James Cameron film Avatar, released in 2009, is gaining global attention ever since it was announced. The makers posted famous Hollywood actress Kate Winslet’s Underwater picture in Twitter to delight Avatar fans. The picture is now going viral everywhere.
The caption attached to the picture with the words that Kate Winslet said in a recent interview. “I had to learn how to free-dive to play Avatar. It was absolutely incredible. He had to hold his breath for seven minutes and 14 seconds. It’s like a crazy swell, “said Winslet.
James Cameron recently revealed that Avatar is filming episodes two and three in a row in New Zealand. In a YouTube channel interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Cameron noted that the principal photography of Avatar II was complete and that Avatar III was about 95 per cent complete. Films need more time during the post-production phase.
While film production and shooting around the world have stopped because of Covid. The Avatar team has been able to resume filming earlier because it is in New Zealand. New Zealand is one of the countries that has handled Covid control most effectively. New Zealand has a better defence than any other country.
At the time of its release, Avatar was the highest-grossing film in the world. That record lost in 2019 when the Avengers End game came out. Sam Worthington, Zo Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver played the lead roles in the first part of Avatar. Both Avatars have the same cast. Newcomers to Avatar 2 are Kate Winslet, Brendan Cowell, Cliff Curtis, David Thewlis, Eddie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Michelle Yeh, Una Chaplin, CJ Jones and Vin Diesel.
Avatar 2 will release on December 16, 2022. While Avatar 3 will release on December 20, 2024.
