This week, two web series starring yesteryear Bollywood divas Sushmita Sen and Raveena Tandon led the weekly recommendations list on newly launched shows on Indian OTT platforms. Raveena makes her digital debut with the thriller Aranyak, while former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen leads the cast in Arya Season 2 of her hugely acclaimed series Aarya. Arya season 2 is now available on Disney+ Hotstar
The thriller starring Sushmita Sen is a remake of the Dutch drama Penoza. Director Ram Madhvani skillfully relocated the narrative to Rajasthan, giving it a uniquely Indian flavour. The programme’s first season was a success, and the second season will continue Aarya’s journey. Sushmita portrayed Arya, the unflappable mother willing to push moral limits to protect her family and children.
When her husband is shot, Arya’s world is flipped upside down in the first season. The second season expands on the same narrative with minor changes. It is accessible via Hotstar VIP.
Netflix – Aranyak
The legendary criminal thriller set in the highlands, starring Raveena Tandon. In addition to Parambrata Chatterjee and Ashutosh Rana, the series stars Parambrata Chatterjee and Ashutosh Rana in lead roles. Raveena portrays Kasturi, an investigator entrusted with tracking down a missing young tourist.
The criminal thriller depicts a stressed-out female officer who becomes hot on the trail of a bloodthirsty serial killer monster. Aside from the thrills of a murder mystery, the series is also a visual treat.
420 IPC on Zee5
Rohan Vinod Mehra, Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, Gul Panag, and Arif Zakaria appear in the Zee 5 film. The plot centres on a chartered accountant attempting to commit a financial scam involving lakhs of dollars. Manish Gupta directed the film, which stars Vinay Pathak as CA Keswani.
Decoupled – Netflix
The divorce drama, starring R Madhavan and Surveen Chawla in the main parts, tells the story of a misanthropic writer and his startup-founder wife. The film, directed by Hardik Mehta and written by Manu Joseph, depicts Madhavan and Surveen as a couple juggling their imminent divorce with the absurdities and annoyances of living in their rich environment.
