Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister, has revealed that he has tested positive for COVID-19. Those who have contacted him have been advised to isolate themselves and be tested for COVID-19. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) head stated he is suffering from minor symptoms and isolated at home.

“I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. I have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch wid me in last few days, kindly isolate urself and get urself tested,” Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi chief minister tweeted.

Today, the Delhi Chief Minister was expected to attend a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the national capital.

Following the development of the Omicron variant, Delhi has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases over the previous two weeks.

On Monday, Delhi recorded 4,099 new COVID-19 cases, with a positive rate of 6.46 percent. Health Minister Satyendar Jain said the Omicron form of coronavirus is to blame for the spike in infections. If the bed occupancy rate rises, additional limitations would be applied. One Covid fatality was also reported in Delhi on Monday.

The city’s new case count and positive rate are at an all-time high, surpassing the 4,482 infections recorded on May 18 of last year.
