And as the days passed and August 5th came the registration process got started. The last date according to the notices earlier was 16th September and from that day various students started registering for the same too. The steps for registration included:
• Open the official CAT website in a new window (iimcat.ac.in)
• Click on CAT 2020 registration
• Enter name, date of birth, email ID, phone number, and nationality
• Click to generate OTP
• On successful registration, an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number
• Verify CAT registration by entering the OTP in the given field

Another problem that students were facing was in how to fill the form and for that, these were the steps:
• After successful registration, login in again using the CAT ID
• Enter fields with required information related to personal and academic details and work experience (if any)
• Upload scanned photograph and signature
• Select MBA programs and IIM institutes
• Select four cities as a preference for CAT exam center

Now as the last day of registration came that means today another notice has been issued by IIM Indore. In this notice, IIM has mentioned various changes that were never made earlier. These changes include a change in the pattern of CAT that means that now the CAT will not be of 3 hours, now it will be of 2 hours only. And students will now have to attempt each section within 40 minutes only. Also, the number of slots for the exam has been increased. This means that as earlier there were only 2 slots now there are 3 slots and the cities that can be selected by students now are 6 that earlier were 4 only.

Also, the registration for CAT 2020 has been extended by one week to 23rd September.

So, in total this year, CAT has gone through various changes that nobody thought of or expected.
