According to TRAI data, Reliance Jio currently holds 35.03 per cent of India’s mobile market and has 40,08,03,819 subscribers. Bharti Airtel and BSNL added 32.6 lakh and 3.88 lakh, mobile subscribers, respectively in July. At the same time, Vodafone Idea lost 37 lakh subscribers. 5,457 mobile subscribers broke off from MTNL in July.
Mobile phone connections rose to 114.4 million in July
According to the Monthly Subscribers Report of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), mobile phone connections in India increased to 114.4 crores in July from 114 crores in June. During this period, the number of urban connections was 61.9 crore and the number of rural connections was 52.1 crore.
After many years, the private telecom operators saw a slight increase in fixed-line connections and reached 1,98,20,419 in July. Live was the leader in this. The decline in the number of fixed-line customers of state-run companies BSNL and MTNL and loss-making private companies Reliance Communications and Tata Teleservices continued.
Broadband connections grew by 1%
Talking about broadband connections, it increased by 1.03 per cent to reach 70.54 crores in July. The number of broadband connections in June was 69.82 crore. In July, Jio’s broadband users were 40.19 crores, Bharti Airtel’s 15.57 crore, Vodafone Idea’s 11.52 crore, BSNL’s 2.3 crores and Atria Convergence’s 16.9 lakh.
