“Having been firmly by the side of New India’s key architect Shri Narendra Modi Ji for decades, Shri Amit Shah Ji has been pivotal in the rise of the BJP. As HM, he has steered India’s internal security to new high,” Himanta Biswa wrote.

Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Smriti Irani, Bhupendra Yadav, and other BJP leaders and ministers sent their congratulations to Amit Shah on the occasion.

Amit Shah was born on October 22, 1964, in Mumbai to an affluent Gujarati family. He began his education at Mansa, the Gujarati village of his ancestors, and afterwards moved to Ahmedabad with his family. At the age of 16, he joined ABVP, the RSS’s student wing, after becoming captivated by the organization’s philosophy. Due to his commitment to the organisation, he was promoted to joint secretary of the Gujarat branch of the ABVP in just two years.

After earning his biochemistry degree, he started working for his family’s PVC pipe manufacturing company. Keshubhai Patel, who was the chief minister of Gujarat at the time, was persuaded to appoint Shah as the corporation’s chairman in 1995 by Narendra Modi. Even after his mentor Modi was exiled as part of a settlement between the BJP high command and rebel Shankarsinh Vaghela, Shah retained this powerful political position.

Shah was chosen as the BJP’s national president following the party’s victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He was the BJP’s youngest national president at age 49. Shah has established a reputation as a brilliant strategist after leading his party to victories in the 2019 elections for the Center and Uttar Pradesh.

Under Amit Shah’s leadership, the BJP resumed its winning streak in state assembly elections following its resounding victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. During Amit Shah’s time as party president, the BJP won in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura, and Uttar Pradesh. His track record as the party’s leader is still unmatched.
