Seoul, In South Korea, American troops opened their new headquarters and termed it Washington’s largest foreigner. This headquarter has been opened in a time when US President Donald Trump had said a few weeks ago that he wants to bring soldiers back home.

There is a treaty between the United States and South Korea and for decades the American Security Force is headquartered in Korea’s Yongsan. Both the countries had agreed in 1990 to shift the headquarters to pyeongtaek’s Camp humphreys. It is about 60 km from the capital. But due to protests, financial issues and huge construction work of the people there, it was delayed.

To save South Korea from nuclear-powered North Korea, there are 28,500 US troops stationed there. The transfer of their headquarters has happened in a time when only a few weeks ago Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong had a historic summit in Singapore. Trump had announced that it would postpone joint military exercises with South Korea. He also said, ‘I want to bring back some soldiers to the country.’
