Ajit Doval, India’s national security advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, celebrates his 77th birthday today (January 20, 2022). Doval is also known as India’s James Bond because he dedicated his life to serving his country, which has remained at odds with its foes for years and has continued to provide intelligence to the army. According to an English news website, Doval has spent over forty years of his life in obscurity to preserve the country.

Ajit Doval was born in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, on January 20, 1945. His father, GN Doval, was also an Indian Army officer. Doval received his early schooling in Ajmer, Rajasthan, at King George’s Royal Indian Military School (now Ajmer Military School). He earned his master’s degree in economics from Agra University in 1967. In 1972, Doval, a Kerala cadre IPS officer from the 1968 batch, joined the intelligence organization RAW. He also spent seven years in Pakistan as an undercover spy.
