A boy who got 90 stitches protecting his sister from a dog, celebrated Raksha Bandhan

A picture of a boy with stitches on his face recently went viral all over social media. This boy became an internet sensation overnight for protecting his younger sister from a dog attack.

Many celebrities lauded six year old Bridger who risked his life in order to protect his sibling. He celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with his sister after his family learnt about why it was celebrated.

His aunt Nikki Walker, who shared the images that were widely shared on the internet earlier, posted an image of Bridger and his sister while she was tying a rakhi on his wrist. She also shared a cartoon that said #BrotherLikeBridger.

She captioned the heartfelt post with, “Bridger’s story has resonated with people across the world and has traveled to places like Mexico, Brazil, Ireland, Iran, South Africa, Japan, and India—just to name a handful. Our new connections to these places have allowed us to cross boundaries, unifying us in the love that a brother can have for his sister.”

She further explains how she learnt about the idea of this festival and how she and her family loved the idea behind it and wanted to celebrate it.

She said, “I read that this action is also meant to protect the brother from bad influences. I love this sentiment of brothers and sisters caring for one another and find it very appropriate that we would get to celebrate Raksha Bandhan today.”

Walker invited everyone to join in their Raksha Bandhan celebrations. This sweet gesture was appreciated by many Indians.

Many celebrities from all over the world lauded Bridger after his injury pictures went viral all over social media. The family said that he needed 90 stitches from protecting his younger sister from a “charging dog”. However, Bridger is an extremely strong boy and is recovering presently.
