As the Covid-19 lockdown continues, many of us find ourselves with more free time than usual. There are so many skills you wanted to learn but couldn’t, due to studies, work, meetups with friends. So now’s the time to develop your skills. Do something productive this quarantine and make your mamma proud. To all those uncertified ‘therapists’ who put up stories last week, here are few more ways to kill your time.

• Baking

Now that quarantine has made literally everyone a baker, there are many ‘how to bake’ videos available on YouTube. You may have perfected the art of banana bread but there’s so much to it, you can bake yourself a storm of bread, or even a 3 tiered cake with online videos and books.

• Embroidery

Embroidery is a beautiful skill to learn. There are many beginner’s kits available on Amazon. It contains everything you need, fabric, cutter, threads, frame, measurement tape, etc. So teach yourself how to embroider lovely patterns and make your mom happy.

• Gardening

If you have a backyard that’s vastly populated by useless weeds, you can actually put it to good use by planting vegetable seeds. There are books and videos on YouTube with instructions on how to grow them and take care of them.

• Reading

If you’re looking to brush up on your vocabulary and reading skills, get yourself a Kindle which lets you read any book you want without having to wait for it to ship until you inevitably get spoiled. A Watt pad is another option for reading online.

• Cardmaking

A card is something really nice and personal. It’s amazing when you receive a card on different occasions. So why not try and make pretty cards? There are card making kits available online so that you can let your loved ones know how much you love them in these trying times.

• Nail art

Everyone has nail paints at home. I mean there’ll be at least one or two. Make yourself the master of nail art by learning it online, so you don’t have to spend ages waiting in the salon for pretty nails anymore.

• Sewing

And you can learn how to sew so you can finally stop harassing your mom every time you lose a button as you aggressively try to put your shirt on in the morning.

• Yoga

Honestly, who doesn’t need a little peace of mind these days? Get yourself a Yoga mat and teach yourself the art. YouTube is the guru.

You can also check out many other skills online. The previous post mentions online courses and books, check them out and be productive during this quarantine.
