Three artists from remote villages of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar won a snow sculpting contest in Japan. The three men defeated 11 teams from 8 different countries. The International Snow Sculpting Competition Japan Cup 2019 was won by Rajnish Verma, Sunil Kumar Kushwaha and Ravi Prakash.
The team made a winning sculpture of Lord Vishnu’s Varaha Avatar (Swine Incarnation). The Indian team created the 4-meter high sculpture at a bone-chilling temperature of -25 degree. All three artists belonged to a poor family. The trio was helped by a Delhi-based NGO Viswa Samanwayak Sangh for the travel money.
