# Headlines Government Strategy and Stories World

Washington,
US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he did not compromise with his demand to build a wall on the Mexican border. However, they agreed to resume partially stalled work of the government. Trump announces an agreement with the Democrats to temporarily start the work of the government until 15 February without getting the amount of $ 5.7 billion sought for construction of the wall.

A few hours after the announcement, he tweeted, “I wish people would read or listen to my words on the Border Wall. This was in no way a concession. It was taking care of millions of people who were getting badly hurt by the Shutdown with the understanding that in 21 days, if no deal is done, it’s off to the races!”

The longest ever so far has made the functioning of several major departments of the government in a way paralyzed. This 30-day shutdown has created a humanitarian crisis, whereby nearly 8,00,000 federal employees were not paid for one month.
