Saudi Arabia has increased the quota for Haj pilgrims to 30,000 Indians. Now, in a year, 2 lakh Jairin can travel to Haj. So far this figure was 1,70,000. Every year millions of people from all over the world go to Haj to visit Mecca. This decision was taken in a bilateral dialogue between PM Narendra Modi and Mohammad bin Salman other in the G-20 meeting.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived to attend the G-20 countries meeting, spoke on the issue of trade and investment, energy security and counter-terrorism. During this, PM Narendra Modi described Saudi Arabia as a strategic partner. After meeting the leaders of both the leaders, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said that Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has decided to increase the Haj quote from 1,70,000 to 2 lakh for the Indians.
He said that it was important and it has been done. He said that soon 2 lakh Indians will get an opportunity to travel to Haj. During this meeting, there was talk of promotion of tourism between Mohammed bin Salman and PM Modi.
